Growing up, Laila Dubois’ life was marred by deep dysfunction—one that can be traced all the way back to her grandmother’s youth. Surrounded by drug use and constantly hurt and neglected by her parents, Laila is left alone to suffer a world of sexual abuse, religious ruse, and relationship violence. Through the worst of times, Laila learns to rise above the dangerous lifestyle of the streets she grew up on by allowing the love and guidance of Christ into her life.
